The Faversham branch of the Workers' Educational Association is running a number of Saturday day schools this term. Here's a summary of what's on offer.
• How to deconstruct a painting, with Ned West-Sherring. Venue: Alexander Centre, Preston Street, Faversham. Saturday February 11, 10.30am to 3.30pm (C3730778), £20.
• ****** (it's not as rude as you think, but Faversham People's automatic abuse-detector doesn't like this word! Clue: a later equivalent would be "doxies"), Heretics & Lepers: Medieval Outcasts, with Vanessa King. By means of informal talks, readings and illustrations we will look at what it meant to be an outcast during the Middle Ages and compare medieval and modern-day attitudes towards "the other". Venue: Shrine of St Jude, Tanners Street, Faversham. Saturday March 3, 10.30am to 3.30pm (C3730781), £20.
• Titanic Day, with Cedric Rebuck: Learn more insights into the world's most famous shipwreck. Venue: Alexander Centre, Preston Street, Faversham. Saturday March 10, 10.30am to 3.30pm, £20.
• Astronomy for all – day two, with David Page. Following his very successful day one last year, David takes us on a further flight into the cosmos with all its wonders and unanswered questions. Venue: Shrine of St Jude, Tanners Street, Faversham. Saturday March 24, 10.30am to 3.30pm, £20.
