Support the Faversham Creek Trust
There will be a special meeting for members of the Faversham Creek Trust tonight (Friday November 11) at Creek Creative, Abbey Street, at 7.30pm.
The trust has been formed by people with maritime, regeneration, educational and business backgrounds; it has now opened its membership to the public in support of its ambitious and dynamic plans for bringing work and local jobs back to Faversham Creek.
The trust is fundraising to train young people in the skills required to build and repair traditional barges and other wooden craft. Based on the creek, the new maritime apprenticeship scheme will revitalise one of Faversham's historic industries.
