ALTHOUGH Faversham Town have taken just one point from their last five Division One South games, manager Ray Turner isn't panicking just yet.

"Apart from the first half against Hythe I don't think we've played particularly poorly," he said, after Saturday's 2-0 home defeat to league leaders Bognor Regis Town.

"I wasn't too disappointed with the Bognor game. Our team spirit was very good and they are a very handy side.

"We did well to restrict them to a few chances and they made the most of them."

But Turner is aware that the Lilywhites need points if they are to avoid losing touch with the top half of the table, and to do this they need to score goals.

On this front he admits they are missing Aaron Quain, who has joined Ryman Premier side Margate.

"I think he enjoyed his time with us and without doubt he's got talent, power too. But we need to replace his goals.

"We have a few new players in the squad and are now starting to settle down, but we need to get some points on the board.

"We've had to work on some things and we will continue to work on them.

"But we need goals, and perhaps we need things to fall our way for a change."

This Saturday the Lilywhites are away to Burgess Hill Town. And with a hectic month that will feature Kent derbies against Ramsgate, Folkestone and Maidstone, Turner wants to make a good start to February.

"They (Burgess Hill) had a great win at Walton Casuals on Saturday and will be buzzing," said Turner. "We will have to concentrate and give 100 per cent. "We need to take something away with us. A win could kickstart February for us."

Next up for Faversham: Feb 4 - Burgess Hill Town (A); Feb 11 - Ramsgate (H); Feb 18 - Folkestone Invicta (H).

Faversham Town under-18s will be holding trials on March 3 at UK Paper Sports Ground, Gore Court Road, Sittingbourne. For more details, or to register, call Chris Wood on 07541 125859.
