Faversham's Chris Wood will be singing live on BBC Radio Two tomorrow.

Chris is a bit of a Radio Two favourite: in February he picked up a couple of gongs at the station's Folk Awards for best original song – Hollowpoint, from his Handmade Life album – and singer of the year.

Tomorrow Chris will perform with folk supergroup The Imagined Village, with whom he's toured and recorded a couple of albums, live from the Beeb's Maida Vale studios as part of 2Day, a celebration of what Radio Two has to offer, which is being plugged heavily across the BBC networks.

The programme, presented by Janice Long, will be broadcast at 10am.

Chris has also been asked to perform an ad hoc duet on the show with Canadian singer Ron Sexsmith; the pair won't meet until just before the programme, but have chosen the Bob Dylan song Dark Eyes. Chris told me: "If it happens, it will feel… loose!" Definitely a one-off, and well worth listening out for.

On Thursday Chris will be playing at the Alexander Centre in Faversham as part of the bunch of musicians put together by Hamish Stuart (Average White Band, Paul McCartney) for a one-off Faversham Festival performance titled Bardcore. The line-up features some world-class players such as harmonica man Brendan Power (Riverdance and many more), bassist Felix Krish (Bad Company) and drummer Steve Washington (Take That, Texas etc). Another one not to miss. Tickets, £15 (only 350 available), can be bought at Bowstring Bookshop, Preston Street, Faversham. Concessions are available for children, senior citizens and disabled people.
