A DRAWING by a Faversham schoolboy will soon be hanging in the home of Chelsea footballer David Luiz.
Five-year-old Reece Beazleigh, of Cyprus Road, drew the picture of his Brazilian sporting idol as part of a competition run by the club.
He beat competition from fans across the UK, Europe and America to be named one of 20 runners-up, and was sent a Chelsea shirt signed by the defender.
It was presented to him in a special assembly at his school, St Mary's Primary School.
Proud mum Kerry Edmunds, 27, said: "He is absolutely crazy about football and I take him up to watch Chelsea when I can.
"Hearing that people entered from other countries makes it a really big thing for him to win.
"He was over the moon when he found out.
"He is always talking about David Luiz and his room is covered in pictures of all the players; he is Chelsea mad."
The competition was divided into three age groups, and David will visit the two overall winners at their schools. But the Chelsea player said he would also be displaying all the pictures in his home in Brazil.
On his online blog the footballer wrote: "I sat down one afternoon and looked at every single one and it was great fun for me. I can say that the fans don't just love Chelsea, but have a lot of talent as well.
"I was really moved by all the pictures that were sent in and the competition entries were absolutely incredible. I have decided I am going to keep all of the pictures and put them in one room at my house in Brazil to remind me of everyone who entered."
